Forest Management
This 246-ac treatment builds off a 25-ac treatment completed last year. The species composition has not drastically shifted, but tree densities are much higher & average tree age class is lower than historic conditions Beetle & mistletoe events & nearby wildfire resulted in areas of patchy mortality. Project area requires heavy tree thinning to restore the forests to a healthy composition & structure.

Targeted Performance Measure

  • Fuels Reduction/Forest Restoration: 247.00 acres
  • Active Crown Fire Reduced: 128.00 acres
  • Conditional Reduction in Erosion: 3,480 metric tons
  • Expected Reduction in Erosion : 625 metric tons
  • Conditional Reduction in Sediment Costs to Water Supplies: $14,188.00
  • Expected Reduction in Sediment Costs to Water Supplies: $2,549.00
  • Homes within influence zone of treatments (homes): 550
  • Conditional Reduction in Home Loss Value: $615,367.00
  • Conditional reduction in home loss (homes): 2

Accomplishments are modeled through Peaks to People’s Watershed Investment Tool and Co-benefits Module. Conditional metrics do not account for the probability of fire. Expected metrics account for the probability the treated area is burned by wildfire. For more information, please visit https://peakstopeople.org/our-solutions/
